Services

Services are available to suit all your equine therapy needs, from the first massage session to recovering after a hard competition day - your horse will thank you!

Initial Assessment

£40.00

Up to 2 hours

Suitable for all horses on their first session, the initial assessment is designed to help me and your horse get to know each other. We start with a static and dynamic assessment of your horse, looking at what areas I suspect might need the most attention, before a nose to tail massage. Then we can make an individualised plan as to how to best move forward for your horse.

You’ll receive a full report of your horses tight areas, including a handy diagram to help pinpoint any problem areas we find.

Routine Session

£35.00

Approximately 1-1.5 hours

Suitable for all horses after their first session, as once we’ve gotten to know each other I can follow the plan we created to help get your horse in top condition and keep them there!

I have a range of tools to help with this, and can give you some homework between each session too.

You’ll receive a report for each session, including diagrams that work great for comparing tight areas and keeping track of progress.

Recovery Appointment

£40.00

Up to 2 hours

Is your horse preparing for competitions? Competing regularly? Racing? Hunting?

This is the one for you!

Suitable for all types of horses in heavy work, this session type is a little longer to allow me to really get to the bottom of the extra tension that comes with a harder workload. From Dressage to Eventing, Racing to Hunting, and everything in between, extra tension caused by training can be restrictive to performance, so keeping on top of it is a great way to keep your horse in the ribbons!

Relaxation Appointment

£40.00

Approximately 1-1.5 hours

Exactly what it says on the tin - these sessions are aimed at relaxing your horse and helping get them used to the process of a massage, so is great for horses who are particularly stressy, or just aren’t too keen on being touched.

We will work at your horses pace, using gentle techniques designed to keep your horse calm and increase relaxation, making it a positive experience for even the most temperamental horses.

You’ll also receive a report, complete with diagrams, to explain my findings in relation to muscle health. It may also include some homework for you!

A range of equipment is also available for use throughout each session, depending on your horses needs.

Massage Gun

This equine massage gun helps to stimulate the muscle tissue to improve circulation, encourage the release of tension and reactivate the muscle fibres.

Equiball

A massage ball that can be used warmed for heat therapy, encouraging blood flow and healing, or cold for working on reducing inflammation. Either can be used to help your horse during a routine massage.

Photizo

This laser helps to warm the tissues using red LED light therapy, relaxing the fibres to encourage the release of tension. This is great for knots that are too tender for hard pressure that may be needed to otherwise break them down.

Veterinary Permission:

Under section 19: 24 of the Veterinary Excemptions Act, available on the RCVS website, massage therapy is applicable as a maintenance of a healthy horse, not a treatment of a diagnosed injury. As such, veterinary permission is not required by law, but will be requested if your horse is undergoing current or recent veterinary treatment that may affect or be affected by the massage. This includes lameness, colic, and other acute onset conditions. If a chronic or long term condition is present, such as arthritis or laminitis, please let me know during the booking in process as I would always prefer to double check that your vet is comfortable that it will help, not hinder, your horse - and so I know in advance what I can do to best help them feel more comfortable.
