Muscle MOT

What is a "Muscle MOT"?

During the initial assessment, your horse will receive a FREE Muscle MOT!

An initial assessment will include a workup of your horse, for me to assess their muscles and their movement so that I can tailor the session to best help them as an individual. This will include a score of how tense your horses muscle are, that you and I will be able to make note of for future comparison. This scoring system is scientifically produced, and peer reviewed, meaning it is not only accurate but also reliable (Merrifield-Jones, Tabor and Williams, 2019). I have adapted this score to suit the outcomes and notable points of a massage, to make it more applicable.

What do the

scores mean?

As your horse works through its sessions, as often as we discuss on an individual basis, you will see an improvement within your horses score, and therefore an improvement within their muscles.

A score will be given for each area of the horse, and on either side. For example, left neck and right neck. I will be sure to note down for you each area and its corresponding score, alongside my usual report that will be sent to you. The sections can be seen here, to help you visualise your horses results.

I may also discuss specific muscles with you, which I will indicate on your report. If you would like me to discuss them with you in person, just ask.

“Understanding your horse is the first step to helping them.”
